7th Asian Youth Day- 2017 in Indonesia

The 7th Asian Youth Day 2017 held in Yogyakarta city, Archdiocese of Semarang, Java Island, Indonesia from 30 July – 9 August 2017 on the theme: “Joyful Asian Youth! Living the Gospel in Multicultural Asia” and the Bible Verse: “Speaking in our own languages, the mighty deeds of God” (Acts 2:1-12). The program was divided into three parts: (1) Days in the Dioceses (DID) from 30 July to 2 Aug 2017, (2) Asian Youth Day (AYD) from 2-6 August 2017 in Yogyakarta and (3) Asian Youth Ministers’ Meeting (AYMM) from 6-9 Aug 2017 in Muntilan,Yogyakarta. His Eminence Cardinal Patrick D’Rozario, CSC, the Archbishop of Dhaka and the Chairman of FABC Office of the Laity and Family offered the inaugural Mass on the 7th AYD. There were 21 delegates including Bishop Lawrence Subrato Howlader, CSC from Bangladesh and all actively participated in the 7th Asian Youth Day – 2017. There were 6 Cardinals, 46 Bishops, 158 Priests, a good number of Religious men and women and more than 3,000 youth in the 7th Asian World Youth Day celebration. The 8th AYD will be held in India in 2020.
