National Seminar of EC – for Family Life

The Episcopal Commission for Family Life organized a national seminar at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Matasagor, Dinajpur from July 27 - 29, 2017. The dioceses of Dinajpur and Rajshahi assisted in organizing the seminar. The theme of the seminar was “Christian Marriage and Love in the Family: Pastoral Care to Families in the Present Complex Realities of Life.” There were 65 participants from the dioceses of Rajshahi and Dinajpur. This seminar was arranged for those involved and responsible for premarital preparation at the parish level, and those involved in diocesan and regional family ministries and activities. The topics of the program were: Various Challenges to Families in the present Socio-cultural Realities of the dioceses, Christian marriage, Importance of Premarital Instructions and Joy of Love in Families, Family Domestic Church: Vocation, Mission and Spirituality, Techniques of Counseling in solving misunderstandings and quarrels among problematic couples and families, Church’s Teachings and Thoughts on Marriage and Family, Life sharing of two married couples and Exploration of various ways in order to solve and meet the Challenges in Families. There was also a group discussion and an open forum for the participants. There was a drama on Family Life, based on the drama, there had been discussion, feedbacks in order to learn how to watch movies and drama on TV. The speakers were: Most Rev. Sebastian Tudu (Bishop of Dinajpur), Most Rev. Ponen Paul Kubi, CSC (Bishop of Mymensingh and Chairman of Episcopal Family Life Commission) Fr. Mintu L. Palma, Fr. Jyoti F. Costa, Sr. Josephine, SSMI.
